Welcome!
I did 5:2 back in 2013 to lose weight, it doesn't suit everyone but it did suit me.
Just a tip is that I've seen many people on here over the years do 5:2 "wrong" and try to have a calorie deficit on the 5 normal eating days which are supposed to be at maintenance calories. Typically they crashed and burned and didn't ultimately get to goal weight. Tortoise and the hare spring to mind.

Thanks sijomial, I did not think of that when I set up my profile for the 5:2. I will go back in and fix it. That's a very important point. Hello katifer2022, my son and I both started the 5:2 today also. We've been trying the keto diet on and off for about two years now with no weight loss kept off. It's just so hard to stay on the keto diet with it being restrictive and eating so much meat and fat. I was raised vegetarian, but I do eat meat now, it's just hard to eat so much as you need to on the keto diet. It also seem to require me to cook so much. I love to cook and I'm a "stay at home mom", but it still was a lot of pressure. Also, my husband wasn't on the keto diet with my son (22 yr old) and I, so I had to cook two different meals as he didn't want to eat keto. I have 124lb. to lose. My son has 142lb. to lose. I'm thinking of going Premium so I can adjust Monday and Thursday's calories down, but not sure yet. Do you have the free version or the Premium? If you have the Premium, do you think it's worth the $9.99/month? I wish you good luck on your 5:2 diet too!0

If that's all you're looking for premium for - a work around would be using the Quick Add function to add food for the amount you want to reduce by on those days, and eating only what you have "remaining" after that.

@DazzlinDarlene
Premium didn't exist when I did it but it really wasn't an issue.
I set my goal to "maintain current weight" and ate the suggested calories plus exercise calories on the 5 normal eating days and simply ate to 600 cal of food on the 2 low eating days. A bit of red on a screen didn't disturb me.1
