Does nobody drink green smoothies anymore looking for a February challenge to get back into the routine.

I occasionally drink smoothies, because I find them tasty and fast, but not as a cleanse or challenge.
My current favorite combo is frozen spinach or kale, zucchini (or cucumber), butternut squash, avocado (half, about 70 g), frozen strawberries or blueberries, protein powder, and either almond butter or sesame seeds. If I have it around, I might add some dairy or dairy subtitute, depending on the cals and desired cals. I also might throw in some spices or herbs (sage goes great with blueberries, for example). I've also added frozen peaches or cranberries lately. This varies depending on what I have on hand.
I was anti protein powder for a while, and was using white beans, chickpeas, or greek yogurt in lieu of the protein powder, but right now I enjoy the protein powder.
I realize this combo sounds weird, but it's IMO tasty.0 -
I drink smoothies all the time with greens in them. Does the term "green smoothie" mean no fruit?
My fav:
Banana
Cherries and/or blueberries
Greens (spinach, kale, collard greens)
Yogurt
Cashew milk
Protein powder (unflavored)
Cinnamon and nutmeg
Cocoa
Spirulina, sometimes1 -
Yes, I make them a couple of times per week. I did the Body Reset Diet over a year ago (and once before that), so I got a lot of smoothie recipes (not just green ones).
A really easy one is some greens, frozen banana, vanilla protein powder, peanut butter and almond milk. Another one is a frozen banana, a small handful of grapes, 1 cup of Greek yogurt, a couple of Tablespoons of avocado and however much almond milk you want to make it to the desired consistency.Another one I really like is a big handful of greens, 1 cup of frozen berries, 1/2 cup of nonfat Greek yogurt, 1 scoop of vanilla protein powder, 1 T cocoa powder (or chocolate protein powder I guess), a couple Tablespoons of avocado and almond milk to desired consistency.0 -

Gosh, I forgot the avocado!0 -
I have a green smoothie every morning before work.
Mine consist of:
1 cup almond milk
1 cup spinach
1/2 a banana
1 cup frozen fruit
I have used several different frozen fruits but I stick to mostly strawberries, kiwi, mango, pineapple, or a antioxidant blend at walmart that is a blend of red berries. At times I will substitute almond milk for orange juice for a more fruity flavor.0
