Heading to Pennsylvania in a few days to visit family for the first time in over a year!... I’m afraid of being overindulgent on unhealthy foods like pizza, wings, “hoagie” etc. !! Brining my yoga mate and hope to keep up the exercising while I’m away.

Who knows? Maybe your family will want to do yoga with you!

Kudos on getting to see your family.

I always pack my own snacks and foods and allow myself 1 meal a day with everyone else outside my normal foods. I find it gives me a good balance and prevents me from gaining 10 lbs 😂

    is covid gone? interesting.

anyways, you control what goes in your mouth. Eat at maintenance for a few days, will give you a few more calories to work with. Make smart choices when possible but don't be so uptight you obsess over it. A huge salad with one piece of pizza, for example. lots of celery and carrots with wings.

a hoagie, well, that's worth being over for the day on LOL (just take it easy the rest of the day)

expect the scale to jump up when you get home. you have to eat 3500 OVER maintenance for an extra 'real' pound of weight. So unless you do that, the vast majority of any weight gain is from sodium intake in all those wonderful things and not real weight. it will fall off in a week or so, typically (shorter for some people, a bit longer for others)

Enjoy your trip and please be safe.
