Soreness!!

Hello. I’m a mid 30’s male in decent shape. I’m not one to use protein shakes or anything, however I noticed that I am really sore after a workout. Especially after a leg day. Is my soreness caused by a lack of protein after I exercise? What causes soreness and how do you combat it. Hard to sit down sometimes after legs ( I keep managing legs cause that’s the worst body part for me in terms of soreness).

Soreness is generally caused by a novel eccentric muscle contraction—a new stimulus with a loaded stretching of the muscle. What exercises are you doing and how are you loading them, reps, sets, weight etc?3

What the previous poster said. Also if you are not warming up adequately beforehand or stretching adequately afterwards this may be contributing to your discomfort.0
