Antibiotics and weight gain

Does anyone have any experience with taking antibiotics and gaining weight, or stalling during weight loss? I had some dental work done a little over a week ago and was put on 10 days worth of antibiotics. I am going to finish the script, so don't fret! But I have been bouncing between the same pound all week and it is incredibly frustrating. I was curious if anyone noticed the same issues while taking antibiotics.
*Yes, I understand I won't have a loss every day and weight loss is full of ups and downs, etc. This isn't my first rodeo. I am just looking to see if I need to do some tweaking or just ride it out until I am done with my prescription. Thanks in advance!

Any kind of trauma to your body (like dental work) can make you retain water while your body heals up. On top of that, I always find antibiotics mess up my system for days - upset stomach, constipation, etc.
Just hang in there and things should settle down.4 -
It’s the dental work.
I used to get massive antibiotic injections monthly and they never affected weight.2 -
I just finished a course of three antibiotics for a major infection, and my loss stalled the entire time I was on them. As the previous posters said, I don't think it was the antibiotics themselves, rather my body fighting the infection, and all of the digestive side-effects of the medication. I had a three-week plateau, but lost over 5 pounds since I finished the antibiotics last week. It was clear that I had been losing fat at my usual rate the whole time, but the water weight and digestive "stuff" was keeping the scales from showing it.6

Thank y'all so much for the feedback. It can be frustrating to track and do "everything right" and see no changes. I have been losing inches the past couple weeks so I am hopeful it is just water retention/my body fighting off the infection etc. I won't lose motivation or steer off course, but I do feel better knowing this is the likely culprit.5
