I love walking and even used to hike. But right now any walking outside what's absolutely necessary for daily life or even being on my feet extra right now are out of the question. I've recently had matricectomies on both big toes and for the next month or so I have to stay off my feet as much as possible. Are there any seated or lying-down aerobic options?

What do you have access to?

Because there are all kinds of resistance training workouts that can be done without being on your feet - if access to a gym.
At home might need those resistance bands/tubes.

Resistance doesn't burn as much as cardio, so you won't get to eat as much extra.
But your eating goal already has a deficit to what you burn anyway for fat loss - that extra just makes it easier sometimes to adhere and sustain it.

Though - if body attempting repair - shouldn't be in a diet right now anyway, great way to stretch out a recovery from an injury.
So maybe no big deal eating less doing resistance training - certainly make the body stronger!
  • I do have a couple of resistance bands, so I'll give that a go! Thanks so much for a truly helpful answer!!!!

I have chronic foot and ankle problems, so I’ve worked to find exercise I can do. Look for HASfit on YouTube. They have a variety of seated workouts. You don’t need equipment except for a chair and light hand weights. I started using canned vegetables for the weight and have graduated to 3 pound dumbbells.

You can squat by raising the balls of your feet onto a board or books, which takes the weight off the toes. If you lack dumbbells, try goblet squats holding something heavy like a weighted backpack. You can also do bodyweight squats fast for more of a cardio effect. :+1:
