Not loosing weight 🤔

Hi. I'm new here and just looking for a little advice?
I'm 37 5 foot or just over and weigh 153 lb. I'm determined to not spend another summer in jeans cause I feel too fat to wear summer clothes so I've cut my calories and started to exercise.
I started around a month ago and am unsure if I lost weight in the first couple of weeks as my scales were rubbish so I brought some electronic Scales.
For the past 2 weeks I've religiously eaten 1200 to 1500 calories a day and biked 20k on an exercise bike (not all in one go) the bike says I'm burning 400 calories although an online calculator quoted more calories than that?
According to my scales I'm exactly the same weight as when I started?
Previously I was eating approximately 500 - 800 calories more each day and doing pretty much no exercise. Surely if I eat less and move more I should loose? I was aiming for around a pound a week as I read that's easier to sustain rather than going on a fad diet where I loose loads fast bit then pile it back on as soon as I stop the diet.
Up till now I've actually been excited to be doing something about my weight but now I'm having to force myself to work out and not eat that chocolate I'm dreaming about cause I seem to be seeing no results. Am I doing something wrong? I have a toddler who I'm home with all day alone so going to the gym or doing some crazy work outs isnt really an easy option for me. Years ago I did the same and cut calories and biked to amd from work - this was on my about 10k there and back and I lost 14lb in about 8 weeks. I was younger then but I don't see how this time it's can have no effect?

The best advice you will hear is to be consistent. You're also going to be asked how carefully you're measuring what you're consuming. It sounds like you're taking the right steps and will likely just require some fine tuning to achieve the success you're seeking. Best of luck!1

If you're doing all the right things, be patient! Bodies are weird.
If the exercise is new to you, your muscles are retaining water to repair themselves. This water weight is likely masking any fat loss you've had. Also, if you're female, your menstrual cycle (ovulation and menstruation) can cause water weight that will also mask fat loss.
Keep doing the right things, put on your patient pants, and you'll get there!
Read the article in this thread. It's gold!

First, are you weighing or measuring everything you eat? If you are estimating portions, you may be seriously off in the calories or if you forget to include things like oil in the fry pan or milk in your coffee.
Second, are you overestimating your calorie burn with exercise?
Third, new exercise can cause your muscles to hold on to water. That will ease after a while, but it can be very frustrating when it happens.1
