Weight loss is like peeling an onion, layer by layer. Get into a calorie deficit, not too big of a deficit, a small deficit and lift heavy for you. You can do this!5

Don't focus on that one area that bothers you. You'd have a concern if you were at your goal weight and had excess breast tissue. But,..and I say this with love, since you have weight all over to lose... overall weight loss could very well fix everything. That's the good news. We all have or have had that same situation.. that's why we are here. You can do this!4

Hi, Brad. Welcome to MFP, a very exclusive club: those who have been there and back again, or who are on the path.
Have you been to the profile page and entered your height, weight, goal weight etc? Do you know your calorie goal yet?
A handful of things I’d recommend to you.
* weight your food (including individual ingredients) accurately
* Log honestly
* Start exercising now. It’s not required to lose weight, but will make the process faster, more enjoyable as you “earn” extra calories back to eat, and sustainable as a result.
* Consider beginning weight training now, rather than later. Many who are here regretted waiting. Again, it’s not necessary, but ay help you obtain the shape you are seeking faster. (Bonus: it’s fun!)
* Don’t go the whole hog and try to lose it all at once or try to exercise it off all at once. That path leads to burnout.
* Read. Read. Read. Read this forum faithfully. Ask questions. You will learn so much here, and have so many diet myths shattered. It’s surprising how ignorant we are about our own bodies. I look back now and slap myself upside the head. “You believed what?!” All you can do is laugh.

Give yourself ninety days. If you follow CICO (calories in/Calories out) faithfully, I promise you, you will feel and probably look so much better that what you now see as mountains will become molehills in the general scheme of things.
As a female of long standing, never once have I looked at a man and scoffed,” Dude has manboobs”. It’s not even on my radar.0
