Winter sports and calories?

So we are shying away from indoor activities this year.

And getting in to the sterotypical Norwegian sports.
But when ever i go to log it. I get crazy numbers. I mean i don't know how fast they think i ski to burn 300 cals in 30 minutes. But I am mainly trying not to fall.
So is there a gradient there or do I burn 10 cal for everyminute with skis or skates on?
