Hey guys, so have been using dumbells and basic bodyweight exercises the past few weeks and was just looking around online to order heavier dumbells than the ones i have and I got onto more useful sets I suppose, just looking for advice from others if im serious about strength training would this be a good set to start off with or something along these lines...

It depends on you. I go to the gym 4 times a week and have been for a long time.
If you're a 20 year old male, then i'd say 50kg on a barbell wont be enough in a few weeks (not that it looks like that much will fit on there!) Then again if you're not a 20 year old male this will possibly suffice for a while. Having said that nothing compares to being at a decent gym. And im not talking about a fitness centre, im talking about an old school, no fuss or polished looking machines type gym.
And i suggest compound movements for EVERYONE such as;
deadlifts
squats
bench press
...as a minimum. YouTube is your friend - study videos to get the correct form. Remember its all about moving the muscle, not the weight. Think contraction! Research online for exercise routines for legs, back, shoulders, arms, chest.0 -
thank you for the advice, i'm female so 50kg would probably keep me going for a while, I am doing strength training classes now so really was just looking for a set that would enable me to keep it home at home with the hope of possibly joining a gym in the future.0
