Hello,
My name is Liz. I have been overweight for most of my life, starting when I was around 10 years old (now 53). At age 19 I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes (yes, Type 1 not Type 2). About 18 years into that I started on an insulin pump and I was able to lose weight. Then things with my job changed and I ended up gaining all of the weight back and more. This past year has not helped any.

My daughter was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 19. She is not overweight but I do like to include her in our meal planning so any tips are appreciated. Good luck on your journey!1
