Does nutrition information for rice mean for cooked or uncooked? Makes a big difference for 1/4 uncooked or cooked 😳 and it doesn’t specify

If not specified, probably uncooked? Rice is usually around 360 kcal per 100g uncooked.

A quarter cup for uncooked usually cooks up to about one cup cooked. It's just absorbing water. I find a serving of uncooked brown rice (45g) cooks up to 112-118g cooked. 170 calories.

I think that would mean if it says 1/4 cup (45 g) is 170 calories and I put in 1 cup of uncooked, then 1/4 of whatever I end up with should be 170?

    You got it!

You've figured it out, but for similar questions, almost all entries in the MFP database that were created from the USDA database will specify some form of raw or cooked.

    Ex:
"Rice, white, long-grain, regular, raw, unenriched"
"Rice, white, long-grain, regular, cooked, unenriched, with salt"
