Women over 50- frustrations but keep trucking

I have been doing things different for three weeks, I know not long enough. I started being able to walk 3,000 steps which was better than 1,200 for month. I have lung problem. I stet a goal of walking 1/4 mile twice a day. By end of week was up to 1/4 mile three times. My lung can only with stand 1/4 mile before no air and have to rest. I also became making healthy food choices. Veggie once a month was usual but I ate two a day now up to veggies at every meal. Stopped pop about dies on that, so at present one a day.. I am now upto 6,000 steps with rest between. The frustrating comes my scales keeps going up. The entire three weeks it climbing. I refuse to give up but don’t understand. Why I am gaining and I record every bite. ????

I am well over 50. Granted, I don’t have the lung problems, however age has not mattered one whit, and I’ve lost a substantial amount.

Every day I added a little more exercise, learned to weigh a little more accurately, cleaned up my logging, making sure I was using the most accurate entries available.

Three weeks is not enough time to tell anything. Give it a couple more and if no change, you’re eating at maintenance, and will have to reduce calories.

Many, many people here lose weight with no exercise, just making carefully sure to eat less than they burn.

There’s a slim chance you’re retaining water weight with the extra exercise, but with that few steps you’d have to be pretty sore from the workout, in which case a doctors visit might be in order to discuss a professional or therapeutic type training regimen. Maybe not a bad idea anyway with the lung condition.

    Hugs.
