TV ads based on internet search
Options
I have the same cable and internet provider. Lately I have been surprised that the ads on my TV are things I recently searched on the internet. At first I thought this was a coincidence but ad after ad is about stuff I have been searching. This is entirely possible. The internet provider is feeding my cable TV my search history.
In order to be sure though I am performing a little experiment. I will search for 'the best tampons' for a few days. I will click on links and check out women forums. If suddenly my TV starts showing me tampon ads, voila, we would be on to something.

I mess with Facebook ads that way all the time. I type a few random items into my status update just to see what they throw at me. The best ads came from "purple dancing monkeys," I think.0
