IF Week 1: Starts Today!

Intermittent fasting is not new to me. I initially lost over 100 pounds and was down to 185 pounds. I recently gained a bunch of weight back and am back up to 244 pounds.
Today at 5pm I began my first day of intermittent fasting. I am going to start a youtube channel to post my results after week 1.
Has anybody else though of trying an IF diet? I'm excited and extremely motivated.
My workout schedule will be pretty simple. Five days per week targeting the common muscle groups with 30 minutes of cardio per day. If I don't like my results I may increase the amount of cardio I am doing. However, since I only plan on getting around 1600 calories in per day, I doubt any more than 30 minutes would be any good.
I'll most definitely post the youtube channel link next sunday when I log my results. Any tips or general observations are always welcome.
Thanks everybody.

I am still intermittent fasting and still losing weight, have lost 45lbs since January 2013 and want to lose further 62 lbs.
I eat 1000 calories Friday and find Saturdays 500 calories tough but I always weigh less on Sunday - this gives me motivation
to continue as it is only two days out of the week.0 -
So you are only fasting two days out of the week? Congrats on the weight loss! I plan on doing this every day. Once I reach 220 I will most likely add a cheat day. Until then...its IF 7 days a week.0

I eat 1600 calories a day as well. I eat from 10 am - 6 pm (8 hour eating window with 16 hour fast). It works wonders for me, but personally if I have to many carbs the first couple a days I don't really lose weight. The first couple of days I keep carbs low and have pretty much all my calories come from protein / fat. After about the third day if I start adding carbs I find I lose even more weight. I would just experiment and find what works for your body!0

What happened? :O0 -
Well...I lost my mother and became homeless. My life pretty much fell apart. However, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger or highly irritated. I'll lose it rather quickly.0

I doubt 1600 is enough... I'm a 5'2 woman at 130lbs and cutting, my cals are higher than that.0 -

Just cardio? To get results anything like what you want you need some strength/resistance training as well.0 -
The way I wrote that was kind of confusing. I am going to do sessions targeting the common muscle groups and 30 minutes of cardio. Just a normal body split.0

1600 may suck really bad. I'm going to see how I feel. If I can get by with 1600 that's where I will stay. If I start feeling like I am going to pass out then I will definitely change my mind.
I'm going to focus on getting my macros in. Everything I eat will be clean.
I'm actually done with my first week of dieting. I wasn't doing IF but as of this morning I have already lost 4 pounds. This week doing my first round of IF should be even better.0 -

Sounds like something I may want to consider. Good luck and keep us posted.0
