Postpartum weight loss help!!

I am 15 weeks PP and I need to lose at least 15 more pounds. I am not currently breast feeding so I can diet strictly and I have had the clear to work out from my OB. Can anyone with experience in postpartum weight loss help me get started? I feel like this weight is glued to my body no matter how hard I try. I work out at least 5 days a week, cardio and some strength, and I am restricting my calories. I got this app to help me be even more diligent on what kind of calories I am eating as to avoid too many carbs, sugar, fat, etc. I dropped 23 pounds after I left the hospital and have been stuck since. How can I get past this plateau? Thanks in advance!

How much are you restricting your calories? Are you sure you're eating enough? How are you tracking your exercises/calories burned?0

I mean, you are only 15 weeks PP. I remember reading somewhere that it can take as long as six months for any baby weight to come off completely. By the time 6 months rolled around I lost all the baby weight plus 7 pounds (though I will say I am breastfeeding, but in the long run that shouldn't matter much). It could be hormones holding onto that weight, especially since you're not breastfeeding. A lot of that breast tissue can take awhile before it completely shrinks back down.
Don't be so hard on yourself. You just brought a life into this world. You surpassed the pain of death to do it. The weight (especially 15 pounds) will come off. Just keep being healthy; eat healthy, stay hydrated, and exercise. Trust me, it will come off.0 -
I've lost baby weight twice now.
It is normal to lose a lot of weight right after the birth (as you probably know).
Track everything you eat, in complete honesty, for a week. Understating your food intake will only hurt your weight loss.
Keep in mind that many people feel that MFP's exercise calorie credits are overstated a bit. It can be frustrating to knock down the calorie burn by 15-20%, but remember that overstating your exercise is only hurting your weight loss.
Losing weight post-partum is the exact same as losing weight any other time (if not breastfeeding), so don't worry, it will come off if you stick to your plan!0 -
Your goal sounds exactly like mine. I had my babe in April, and I'm about halfway to goal, see my ticker! I've lost weight before I got pregnant, and the thing I try to remember is that it's just going to take time. My mother also keeps reminding me that even if I get back to pre-baby weight, my hips have changed shape and I still might not be able to fit into everything I used to.
Right now, I'm doing C25K program, and it's going pretty well. The thing that has kept me going is achieving my fitness goals. Even if the scale isn't moving like I want it to, I know I'm still achieving greatness. I'd advise you to do the same, mostly because you don't have a lot to lose, and it's probably going to test your patience.0
