New member - old habits

Hey everyone, I'm Heather and I have some bad habits that I need to sort out. I have noticed that lockdown has given me an excuse to not behave myself and today I came to the realization that this needs to stop. A mate of mine had mentioned MFP before and so I thought "why not?" I can't wait to get to know you all and (hopefully) make a complete and fulfilling change.

So, quick question - what is one thing you wish you had known at the start of your journey?

    1. a food scale can help you figure out if you portions are anywhere near accurate

    2. throw away all the vague concepts of "healthy" vs "unhealthy" foods or ways of eating you have picked up along the way and just figure out what keeps you happy and within your calorie goals.

that last one is a bit difficult, but if you start by just logging consistantly and as accurately as you can, and pay attention to your peronal trends - what types of foods help you feel full, when do you tend to be the most hungry? you can make decisions that work for you.
