And so it Begins....

Hey folks! My name is Aled and im from Swansea in South Wales (UK). I've recently started my epic journey to losing weight. I'm 24 years old , 5ft10 and since my early teens i've been overweight. I used to be a big swimmer, surfer and squash player...But as my school exams got more serious, my time was turned towards studying and when I wasn't working on school stuff, I was playing computer games. This and a reliance on easy food such as fast foods made me gain weight quite severely and these days i'm fluctuating between 20-22stone.
I'm not happy with how I am. I'm a vocalist in a band and depsite being up there and singing in front of people at gigs, I still feel majorly self-conscious about how I look and im fed up with it!
As a result I found my way onto this site after much internet searching and i'm going to do my utmost to change how I am, to get healthier as well as gain self-confidence that I have severly lacked throughout my teens.
I'm not going to rush things as i'd like to completely avoid saggy skin (i'm a bit paranoid about this). But I'd certainly like to get down to 15 or 16 stone.
I know it's going to be hard as i'm so used to fatty foods like pizza, as well as coca cola and other such things that I have used to comfort myself.
Sadly our weighing scales at home is broken but we are getting new ones tomorrow and I will be recording all my losses as soon as its here. For now I have pegged myself at 22 stone (as a maximum).
Wish me luck!

Welcome and Goodluck! Well done on making this decision!
Just a word of advice from my experience, don't follow the scales too closely! - instead use a tape measure to do some measurements as it will show you how much your body is actually changing
But all the best!0 -
Shall take your advice on board! Thanks!0
