Hi, back again

Hi everyone. Well I am now at my all time high weight and have decided to lose. I am just cutting calories. I have health issues so exercise is not really possible. I am simply trying to lose 4 pounds a month. I have 100 pounds to lose. I know this is a two year journey to good health.

Luckily exercise is not necessary for the loss anyway. Is all physical activity ruled out? increasing NEAT is a good way to bump your calorie burn without intentional exercise per se.

I am on oxygen because of my heart and have a serious knee issue. When I walk it is slow, but I am going to try that to see if it helps. What is NEAT?

NEAT is your non-exercise activity - just stuff you do in everyday life that burns calories - increasing it by doing a little more activity that gets you up and about around the house or outside. The little things add up quickly and it can far outweigh the calories burnt through intentional exercise. Typical examples would be parking a little further away so you have to walk a bit more, taking the steps instead of a lift, ironing whilst watching TV, active hobbies like gardening. But really anything that decreases the amount of time you're sitting throughout the day.

If you can walk, even if it's slow that's exercise.
