How do things get on "My Foods"?

I'm guessing the answer is "It's the stuff you put in your food diary, regularly"? Can I add to it any other way? I was thinking of things in my "Recipes" list. My recipes list is getting so long ow it takes ages to find anything so it isn't a lot of use. At least you can search in My Foods.

"My Foods" are items you add to the database - say you bought a packet of jambalaya mix and couldn't find an entry that matched the nutrition facts on your box, so you would need to add that nutrition data to the database. I've also used My Foods to add, say, my go-to Chipotle order, that kind of thing.

Not just whole entries from scratch - also entries that you've corrected end up in "My Foods."

Thanks, folks. Very helpful. It would be good if "My Recipes" added themselves as well. The "My Recipes" I have now is too long to be of any use and Community members have said that you can't manage and sort them. I think that I'll put all my new stuff in the database after using the calorie counter in My Recipes. But it all gets a bit long-winded!

In the app (phone/tablet, not web) you can search your recipes like you can search your other food lists (by putting in some letters, and it will filter the list down to things that match those letters).

On the web, you can only sort by name or "default", so unless you adopted a name structure, that isn't super helpful (by name structure, I mean something like always starting with the type of dish, then a specific order of subtypes, like "pasta, lasagna, white sauce, veggies" or "muffins, whole wheat, raisins" or something so the name sort would narrow it down a bit).
