Hi and my story

Hi everyone, I'm Karl, in my early 20-ish, not obese but live a very unhealthy lifestyle.
I'm 50kg. Sounds like a small figure no? Now, before you judge, I'm merely 151cm tall - which means I've a BMI of 22. Obese? No, but I'm undeniably out of shape and if I continue my unhealthy lifestyle I'd say sooner or later I'll be obese.
This is not the first time I join fitness pal. In fact, a year ago (June to July 2012) I succeeded in losing 6kg in a month by keeping track my diet on fitness pal. Alas, it doesn't last as I was in a calorie deficit diet (Sometimes I even starve myself and have only 300 calories the whole day). One day I couldn't stand the hunger and the overwhelming craving for junkies that I gave in and from that day onwards I'd been bingeing almost every.single.night. I understand what I'm doing and how damaging it is to me but there's zero willpower in me. The guilt of bingeing were comfort by more bingeing. A never ending cycle but now , yes, now - I'd decided it's time for a change. I'm also writing this post to warn those who is starting their diet and is thinking of the calorie deficit diet.
It won't work and it won't last. Take me as an example, starting at 48kg , lost 6 kg in a month but gained 8kg after that, resulting in a 50kg me now. If this doesn't scare you away, just letting you know one ugly fact , the intense weight loss and weight gain had resulted in numerous cellulite and stretch mark on my thigh and butt. So, if you think risking yourself with lifelong stretch mark is worth that extra kg you lost by following an extremely low calorie, go ahead :)
If you'd like to help me in fighting this never ending bingeing episodes and see how I transform to a fitter me, be my friend on fitness pal and we can support each other.
P/S Just writing down my plans below and please do comment/advise me :D
1. No more junkies (fast foods, processed foods)
2. Go to gym more often
3. Quit bingeing

  • Great job! "The hardest lift of all is lifting your butt off the couch", you surely see results if you keep this up. Admire your decision to start a healthier lifestyle!
  • You can do this. I am in same boat. Lost, maintained and starting in May, got off plan with a little of this and a little of that. It turned back into my binging and 10 lb gain. I am back on track and feeling great. Still have weight to lose but... not depressed.
