Are "What I Eat In A Day" video actually helpful?

After spending some time online, I've come to the conclusion that people like the whole "What I eat in a day" video series that different personalities put out.
I didn't really understand the appeal until I landed on WW (Weight Watchers) with my wife.
Suddenly, I was concerned about what I was making for dinner.
I didn't know what to make if I couldn't fry up a piece of chicken with mashed potatoes.
Suddenly... I found myself looking at the "What I eat in a day" videos that these people were producing.
We actually had no idea how it would go. But, in tried and true fashion, we found that while putting our own content together, we discovered what was working for us.
Unfortunately, we also found what wasn't working for the wife. BUT... I think we have a game plan to combat that this upcoming week.
We're going to keep trying to eat better (for weight loss), but we're also going to change liquid consumption to see if that impacts the plateau we hit.
Fingers Crossed.

I like the Buff Dude's diet challenges, but just for entertainment. I've never actually been inspired to cook anything I see them make, or follow any of the named diets they feature.

The only entire "what I eat"-like video I can remember watching all the way through was one of the one-day 10,000 calorie challenge things, and what I really wanted was to see the post-feed scientific testing in that particular vid. I do know what they are. If I accidentally stumble into one, I nope out pretty fast.
I don't care what other people eat, really, other than snagging the occasional food combination or recipe idea, and I get plenty of that here (or by accident in daily life) if I want it.
I know what I want to eat, other than getting that occasional new idea to try. I eat pretty much the same things to maintain weight that I ate to gain and lose weight, just different portion sizes, frequencies, proportions. Maybe it's because I'm old and an experienced cook, maybe it's because I didn't start from the SAD (I guess) or being a "junk food junkie" (so called) so didn't feel like I needed a dietary revolution, but I find the whole concept of "what I eat" videos inexplicable. People should eat whatever they enjoy, that adds up to well-rounded nutrition at reasonable calories. Maybe it's just me, but it's not that hard, it seems like, especially when food-logging.
Similarly, I can't imagine why anyone would care what I eat, outside of the rare case here of someone who's newly figuring out vegetarian nutrition. 🤷♀️1
