As someone with Jamaican heritage who has tried this recipe (with few substitutions, I may add), I co-sign it 👌🏿It was actually pretty good and authentic. Please do not tell my grandmother.2 -

What substitutions did you make?0 -
As for ingredients...
2 cups of homemade beef broth (omitted wine)
2 large red onions (instead of 1 yellow)
4 carrots (omitted parsnips)
As for cooking directions...
Cleaned raw meat in lemony water, rinsed it off then marinated with the noted measures of black pepper, salt and rosemary. Added paprika and some "browning"to the marinade and let rest in fridge 24 hours prior to cooking. Before you start searing, take the meat out of the fridge for about 30 min though 🤷🏿♀️
Apart from that, I used a Dutch oven instead of a slow cooker.0
