@Teresa502 I hope you are feeling better. I think running to the bathroom counts.
Congratulations @sweetdaisy13 on beating your 100 mile goal for the month!
@shanaber It happens that way sometimes. You have a great run and then one that isn't so great. Hopefully Friday will be better. So glad you are released form PT!2 -
Way to go on your 100 mile month @pfeiferlindsey! Well done, you definitely should be proud.
Love to hear about the good runs @kgirlhart and @shanaber. Even if they don't all go that way. The occasional one is such a great feeling.
Great work exceeding your monthly goal @Scott6255!
Sorry for the stomach issues @Teresa502. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

I met my friend for a late afternoon run today and as soon as I got in the car to drive to meet her it started pouring rain. We both showed up anyway and got lucky that it had stopped by the time we got out of our cars. We ran our 3.1 miles and got back in the car and bam, it was pouring again. So lucky that we managed to hit that break in the rain just perfectly. Later it cleared up and was a fabulous evening so I took Stella out for a nice walk that we both really enjoyed).
I'm not going to make my 100 mile goal this month. I don't think I actually set a mileage goal in this month's thread but 100 is my typical default in my spreadsheet. It's okay, my main goal was to be free of back pain and to get back into consistent running. I've done pretty well with that with the exception of last week's low mileage, and my back currently feels really good so I will take that as a good month. I still feel like I have a ways to go to get my running fitness back to a better level, especially more consistent long runs.6 -

Made several phone calls regarding my cousin this morning and then went out for my run before having to go to work at 1:30. Today's plan was for a foundation run, all easy pace. I tried to keep my HR below 153. It did go above, but the average was 151, so I'll take that. My effort did feel easy, but I felt like I was running faster than I did. Somehow, my subconscious knew because I told myself to not be surprised if the first mile was 14 minutes. Sure enough, when Garmin beeped, it was 13:57 min. I just have to trust that these slower runs are really good for me in the long run. (figuratively and literally)
Oh, btw, my cousin is gong to be moved into a geriatric psych unit temporarily, in order to tweak his medications and evaluate him with the goal to get him back to assisted living.
@katharmonic Way to time your run perfectly! I think you have done great this month. Being healthy is much more important than 100 miles!4 -
I’m sick! I did my usual weekend 5k on the railroad access road, nice run, did about half my lifting the next day and started feeling so chilled I took my temperature and it was 101. Next morning my stomach started freaking out and I spent Tuesday alternating hiding under the covers and running to the bathroom. So no run. Today my temp (and heart rate and blood glucose which were both way elevated) are back to normal but I feel shaky bad. Hoping to feel better tomorrow.
My husband had a less severe version of the same thing so I’m thinking we ate something. Could be Covid breakthrough but seems unlikely it would hit us both the same way with us both being fully vaccinated.9 -
Oh no @rheddmobile ! I hope you are feeling a lot better by tomorrow. There is a stomach bug going around at daycare. Maybe that is what you had.1

Hey all.
So family holiday is officially over. Back home now with the kids. They are back at school in a few days. I'm lucky, I have another week off work, a holiday to recover from my holiday so to speek.
Running has been pretty good. I'm doing a garmin plan atm. My challenge is to get my confidence up haha. Coach Greg doesn't have a lot of confidence in me atm because the first few weeks I was only half doing the plan, and half doing Hal lol. Hopefully with a few weeks of following it, the confidence will improve.
Next half is about 8 weeks away. Can't wait!9 -

April Total: 149k
April Goal: 150k
Today was a scheduled rest day (golf instead of running), but it was raining. It was a gentle rain, perfect for running in, but I told my wife I didn't feel like running in the rain, so I opted to do a little treadmill instead. Put on music from the 1960s, and it was pretty mundane until we got to Dee Dee Sharp's "Mashed Potato Time," followed by Skeeter Davis' "(I Can't) Stay Mad at You." Got a big smile on my face and finished up happy. Total rainfall overnight and this morning was just about one inch -- badly needed.
When you pop in here claiming your December 2021 mileage, what accomplishments will you have made?
PUT THE FUN BACK IN THE RUN!
Return to a good running weight of 175 lbs (second attempt)
2021 Races:
6/26 Direction Up 5k, Solon, OH
9/18 5k Run and Roll, Aurora, OH7 -
well, despite the fatigue, I managed to finish the month off strong
04/23 couldn't do it
04/25 20 k versus 30 planned
04/27 7 k
04/28 10 k
total 209.4 for April (goal 200)
Thanks for all the encouragement and reassurance regarding burn out feelings this close to the marathon. Yesterday's 10 K was awesome and I hit 1:06:45. That's my fastest time. I think that's because I didn't push it last week. Now for the official taper. Soooo nervous about the 9th - I've planned out the route to revolve around public washrooms and places to buy a gatorade LOL. It's also quite flat. Setting myself up for success in the best way I can since it's virtual. thanks again and congrats to all of you on your efforts this month - whether you nailed your goal or not!!!6 -

Tummy is much better today thanks @shanaber @quilteryoyo @katharmonic. I got out for a 4.45 mile run. At first the moon was obscured by the clouds but they moved out soon after I started. I love that it is getting daylight earlier each day.
@shanaber - Sounds like all your PT exercises are paying off.
Congrats on the 100 miles @pfeiferlindsey.
@katharmonic – I’m not going to make it to 100 miles this month either. Between my second COVID-19 shot and the stomach bug, plus intentionally getting in more hikes, it just didn’t happen. Correction - I didn’t make it happen. If I had really, really wanted that goal, I could have found a way.
@quilteryoyo – Sorry your cousin is having issues again. You are an angel for taking care of him!
Glad you are feeling better @rheddmobile.
@Avidkeo – After that stellar half marathon that you just ran, Coach Greg needs to adjust his attitude! You are doing great!
Can’t say that I know those songs @Tramboman but they sure sound like happy songs!
You’ve totally got this @rb3551!

@Teresa502 If you give them a listen on YouTube, you can hear music from back when dinosaurs walked the earth.3

Whew I was starting to worry bahaha last day of the month here2 -
Thanks @Scott6255!1

So been for my last run in April. Today called for stride repeats. I really enjoyed this run, though getting notifications I'm my ear every 20 - 45 seconds got annoying. May turn them off and just have the vibration on my wrist, though they can be handy at times.
Was a lightish month since I took a week off running after my HM. Total of 110.5km

Just a short warmup on the treadmill before strength training this morning. I intended to do more later but it's been raining all day and I was not in the mood to go out there. I'll start with a fresh attitude in May, I'm sure5 -

Thank you!!!!!0 -
Congrats on hitting your 100 mile goal @sweetdaisy13
@shanaber I'm sure it was just a case of "this run must suck because the last one was awesome". It's a real thing, or at least it should be recognized as such.
Excellent run timing to avoid that rain @katharmonic
Hope you feel better soon @rheddmobile
Thanks for setting up the new thread @Scott62553 -
@Avidkeo Glad you have and extra week of vacation to relax. You are going to do as great on your next HM as you did the last. What does Coach Gregg know anyway?
@Tramboman Glad you got some much needed rain and ended your run with a smile.
@rb3551 Congrats on your 10K PR! You will do great on your marathon.
@Teresa502 Thanks. I'm glad you are feeling better.
Thanks for setting up May for us @Scott6255 !
