My maintenance strategy is this:
Eat as healthy as possible and stay at a slight calorie deficit during the weekdays. Track your food every day and avoid sweets/treats, high fat/carb meals (like big restaurant pasta or French fry meals), and log your food religiously.
Work out regularly -- intense workouts 4 times a week or so. Weights and HIIT cardio.
Relax on the weekends. Eat a cupcake, enjoy a cheeseburger and fries, drink with your friends, and don't worry too much about it.
This strategy isn't great for losing, because all the cheats/treats/booze will cancel out your calorie deficit during the week, but you should see a little recomposition if you're hitting heavy weights, because you're giving your body enough calories to build a little lean mass.
Good luck!0
