I'm in the navy and had a baby 8 months ago tomorrow. I keep putting off trying to diet because I'm breasfeeding and dont want to lose my supply. Well I have 8 weeks until my PT test and I need to lose like 20 lbs! I know I should have started a long time ago to lose slowly without affecting my supply, but here I am. Help me!

There is information in the help section at the top of the page - search breastfeeding. There are discussion threads you can read. I don't think MFP offers a calorie plan that takes it into account, but lots of people here do it. Just be aware that you are essentially getting layman's advice. I would talk to your Doctor, and probably start an exercise program. Best of luck to you!

If you are breastfeeding, you might want to check with the personnel manual and see how long you are waivered for. If you are breastfeeding then you are waivered from the weigh ins for a certain amount of time, I just can't remember how long.

As far as the PT test. C25K....do that for the run. Go to the gym and use medicine balls while you do the sit-ups. And for the push-ups, start with 5 a day, every day. Then next week bump that up to 7, then 10, then 13, then 15, you get the idea.

If you are waivered, then good you have more time to lose the weight, but start now. Don't lose your ability to be promoted because of something like weight! And honestly, you don't have to cut a lot, if milk stores are what you are worried about. Cutting just 300 calories a day will work.
