Hi Anthony, you can do it it does take commitment and work and sometimes it gets really rough but when you start making steps in the right direction I've always found that to encourage me to keep going further. Besides using MyFitnessPal do you have any other plans to tackle your goals?. Right now I am using a echelon flex bike on top of counting calories. You can do it man, just figure out what works best for you and you will be encouraged as you start to trend in the direction you want. This place has a great community as well so there's always friends you can make to talk to if you need motivation etc

Slow and steady wins the race. People told me that for eons and I wanted the weight gone and gone now. Pick healthy foods you like, move more, and you'll get there. Stay on MFP and you'll find tons of motivation. Above all, be kind to yourself.

Oh and make small goals. Instead of thinking wow, I have to lose X pounds, shoot for a smaller goal such as 5 pounds at a time. It won't feel so overwhelming.

    Good luck and welcome!

I hate to brag, but well..... over the last five years, I've lost a total of almost three pounds.

I've read, it's best to lose the weight slowly.

    I agree.

    ..... then the doctor said:

"You might want to think about skipping the gym for several days."
