Due to an injury and subsequent surgery I gained a lot of weight in 2019. I also got back into bad habits again!
This left me with 55lbs to lose.
I've been making sensible choices and eating healthily and I can finally exercise (a lot!).
Last week I hit my halfway point and still have 25lbs to go. But at the same time I've slowed from losing 2lbs a week to 1 a week.
Fyi I'm 39, eating 1300-1500 a day, net 1000-1200. Exercising cardio and weights every day. Start weight 220lbs, now 190lbs. 5'9". Now size 16(18 in the bum/thighs in some brands). BMI 28.
It's getting me down, I am feeling defeatist that at 1lbs a week I wont see my goal weight before November.
I would greatly appreciate any supportive comments and tips on staying buoyant as I continue!

It is natural for weight loss to slow down the closer you get to your goal as your body needs less energy as it drops weight. I can understand it can be frustrating for weight loss to be slower than we want, but 1lb a week is still great and the fact you continue to lose is fantastic! Try not to let how long it will take discourage you! You are more likely to maintain your weight in the long run by losing slowly and consistently. Keep at it!2

Unless you have a special event you are aiming for there is nothing to be gained by speed.
Rethink. Weight loss has two parts- eating in a calorie deficit and living with it. Folks tend to go all in on the deficit and try to beat themselves into living with it. Generally doesn’t work out in the end.
The desire for speed usually come from seeing weight loss as something to suffer through. But suffering is neither needed nor desirable. Try to look at your plan as to how livable it is. Consider what you think your life will be like once you make goal. What are you doing now that you think you can live with long term? What can’t you keep doing? How are you going to maintain?
Don’t let your brain wreck you. 1 lb per week with 25 to go is great. Actually any loss at all is success but somehow our brains can look at success and scream that it’s total disaster. It’s not. Every single loss is a step towards goal. Ditch the calendar. It’s not a weight loss tool.
If you’re lucky as you near goal your losses will slow some more. A smooth landing is better than crashing into goal and then fighting to hang on. It’s working. Don’t mess with a plan that’s working.

Slow and steady is more likely to build lasting habits that than "quick and dirty" strategies that can't be maintained over the long haul.
You've got this!3
