I received my lab results and my A1C has gone from 7 to 9.9. Time to take action.

You came to a good place for it. There are quite a few people I've seen here who've dramatically reduced their A1C by losing weight, getting more exercise.
Wishing you huge success!4 -
You are in the right place. That is serious! Wishing you all the very best.0

You can do this--we're here to help. Many of us have had to do the same thing!0

Welcome! The tools available here can be very useful.
Since you have a previous A1C, it sounds like you already knew that you have diabetes, you have just been struggling to control it?
If you know what to do, but are just having trouble doing it, these forums can offer a lot of support in different forms. Reach out when you need a hand.1 -

Oh boy indeed! Are you on any meds right now?
My a1c was 11 when I was diagnosed, and is now consistently under 5. What I do is called “eating to the meter.” I test my glucose after meals, educate myself about how much of which foods I can tolerate, and adjust my food and exercise accordingly. Because each diabetic is different, what works for me in terms of food may not work for you - for example, I can eat a ton of fruit without a spike, but almost no rice, and you might be the exact opposite. Test and you will learn!
Cardio after meals to bring your sugars down can help. Strength exercise improves insulin resistance in the long term. And of course get down to a normal BMI as quickly as you safely can.
Best of luck to you!5
