Hi...newbie my name is Amy. I have 35 to loose and my calories are at 1600...day to day I can be on my feet alot at work depending on my day. I usually get 11000 steps and workout 5 days a week usually a good 30 min. Is 1600 too high??

If you set up everything correctly and that's what mfp gave you, it's probably fine. You won't actually know how accurate the estimate is until you try it.2

How quickly do you want to lose it ? The slower the better I’d say ...0

MFP is giving you 1600 + exercise calories based on your current stats (which isn't shared information), the activity setting you selected (which only you know but I hope it reflects all those steps and being on your feet all day) and the rate of loss you selected (which again only you know but that has a big impact on your calorie allowance).
On the five days you exercise you get to eat more to keep at the same calorie deficit you selected.
In general the target calories are more accurate than people's food logging!
Trial that number for a month (or more) and you will have your answer both in terms of how your weight is trending and how hard or difficult you are finding it to stick to.

To explain, sometimes people come here and are mesmerized by the two pounds per week option and think they can get it all off like *that*.
Eating too few calories leads to hunger, which leads to binges, leads to guilt, lowering calories yet again, rinse and repeat til folks quit.
Choosing a slower rate of loss really is the fastest way to lose. You get more to eat, and build great habits for maintenance.2
