Weight loss and body dysmorphia

Hi! So I've lost a bit of weight lately in the last few months with a healthy lifestyle. (walking more, decreasing strength training ((I was overtraining like crazy)), cutting out processed snacks and all the cake... etc.) As a result, I am 3 lbs away from my first goal weight benchmark! Yay! Though now I am struggling with not seeing how I was before (7lbs ago). And I am constantly reassuring myself that I have in fact lost weight. I am 5'2" for reference to 7lbs is a huge deal. Anyways I want to keep going with my weight loss and put back muscle but I also want to fix how I perceive myself. Any tips would be helpful.

Hey there! I have a long history with weight fluctuation and body dysmorphia, but I am by no means an expert.
It takes the brain months to adjust after weight loss or weight gain. You may be able to tell a bit more by putting on jeans and seeing how they fit differently, or a top that used to be a little tight.

I think quite a few people have trouble with their mind catching up with their body. To some extent it makes sense, as most of us look in a mirror every day and we don't see change.

Scales, measurements, photos, and fitness measures (faster, stronger, longer, etc) are all data points that can help many.

Though I'm no expert, often times I think we are our own worst critics. We imagine that at X pounds, we will look like Y. And due to that, the expectations drive how we think we look. At times outsiders see what we don't in regards to progress and such. For many, it's still a tough hurdle to overcome.
