Starting anew...again :)

Hello fellow MFPers. I am not new to MFP but this is my first post on the forums. I am chronically trying to lose weight and have been forever. This time I really want to do it right. I am at my all-time high weight and, for the first time, I'm experiencing health detriments such as increasingly poor thyroid function. So, hopefully through MFP and your support, I can make it happen! Overall, I'd like to lose 70 lbs, but I know it's important to celebrate the small goals while keeping my eye on the prize. Also, I'd like to become pregnant in the next couple of years and I want to have a healthy pregnancy and be a healthy mom.

Hurdles I have to face: an uneven work schedule (varying 12-hour shifts, three days per week) and a husband that really loves sweets!

Thanks for reading!

Welcome to MFP community. It has totally been what has helped me to stick with it. I was at all time heaviest this June. Been working daily...one day at a time..some better than others...but I pick myself up and keep going. I'm committed to this for a lifetime. I realize food is my thorn. I have to log and exercise...I can have some sweets in moderation. I'm learning a bite of this or a taste of that will satisfy...took awhile to get there though but that's ok. It took me 20 years to put it on...so I'm taking the time to take it off right. There are a few foods I'm telling myself I can't have right now. But when I meet my goal, I will be able to have them in moderation. They are the ones I have little self control over...I've been working on building that self control muscle up and it's getting stronger every time my clothes feel looser and when the scale moves a bit more!

I'm happy with results. Down 14 lbs.with 6 more to loose for my first goal. My husband loves sweets too and hasn't got bitten by the bug yet...but I believe he will!

I've logged in for 80 days as of today so divide that by my loss is .147 lbs per day...every little bit adds up!

You can do this! Feel free to friend me! I log daily...

I love to encourage and get a little too!

    Blessings,
    Carla

Welcome!!!! Consistency is key. You want it bad enough, you can do it! The weight doesn't go on overnight, and we have to remember that with coming back off. We're here to HELP you!

I fight having a husband that believes in every processed food out there (although he's doing Much better at avoiding McDonalds, its a step!) and kids that follow him, because they can! I'm working with them the most, but I certainly fight having every bad food available in the house. Sometimes I succumb, but I'm getting better, week by week, at holding stronger.

    Feel free to friend me.

I too am starting over although this is first time on MFP. It sucks because I love cooking for my family, and usually the sweeter things. If it werent for sweets and chips and bread I would probably be skinny. Right now Im a SAHM so I try to get exercises in between kids and cooking and cleaning. I wish you luck in your weight loss journey :-)
