I am 15 weeks pregnant! I weigh 258 lbs, 255 before pregnant... I need some tips on how to lose weight safely! Anyone else successfully lose weight when pregnant?

Yes. Generally speaking it is unadvised for pregnant women to deliberately lose weight. Some do during the first trimester due to nausea, and generally there's no cause for concern, but even then it can be dangerous to both mom and baby if excessive. Please talk to your doctor or midwife about it. Expect them to tell you it's a bad idea.
What might be a better idea, *with the supervision of your doctor or midwife*, is to be more cautious about your weight gain. Where I live the common recommendation is that women with a BMI over 30 gain about 15 pounds during pregnancy. Most of that weight gain will be at the end (that is typical for any pregnancy.)
After you give birth and have healed, you can be cleared to try losing weight, which you should still move slowly with especially if breastfeeding and with regards to vigorous exercise, because it takes your body time to return to normal hormone levels and for everything to move back to where it was. I am 10 months postpartum, still mostly breastfeeding, and losing weight steadily without risking my milk supply. I am running and beginning bodyweight lifting. Pregnancy is a short time overall. You'll be OK. No need to rush - it may very well do more harm than good.10 -
This is not the time. Please seek guidance from your doctor before attempting anything like this. You can control you’re weight gain while pregnant, but please don’t try to lose weight especially without the guidance of a doctor. You will have time to do so afterwards. I’m 4 months pp and I was overweight while pregnant and ended my pregnancy obese, now I’m 15lbs below my prepregnancy weight and only 5lbs above a healthy weight. I promise you will be able to take control of this once your child is born.10

I weighed about the same as you when I got pregnant and had my baby last year. I put all of my weight loss goals to the side and worked with my doctor to determine how many extra calories I should eat during each trimester of pregnancy. I'm sorry to be blunt, but when you are pregnant it is about your baby and not you. After birth, you can put focus back towards being a healthier weight, but while pregnant your baby needs that extra nutrients. My doctor only wanted me to gain 25 pounds during the entire pregnancy, I gained 30 which is very reasonable. I'm still working on losing that, but if I got pregnant again my weight loss would be put on hold unless my doctor encouraged it.5

Tips to lose safely while pregnant: give birth. That is all I can say. You have 25 more weeks to go (hopefully!) before that happens, so patience will be your best friend. I’m in pretty much the same boat, I’m 16 weeks pregnant and obese. The commenters above are right, it’s really not about us mothers as much as it is about our babies, and risking your baby for weight loss is just not worth it.
The smart thing you can do is discuss with your healthcare provider about what would be a reasonable weight gain goal for you and try to hit that (not above, not below). Since you’re already quite heavy, it’s likely that with a reasonable doctor-recommended calorie input you would lose some fat while pregnant as the weight you’re gaining in breast tissue, placenta, baby, amniotic fluid, increased uterus size etc. could easily be more than what you add on the scale.
After giving birth, you have plenty of time to lose weight by eating a sensible diet, going on walks with your new baby, breastfeeding and eventually running after the little one.8 -

You need to talk to your Dr. It is typically not recommended that pregnant women purposely lose weight during pregnancy. Now is probably not the time, but really only you and your Dr. can determine that, not a bunch of randos on a calorie counting website.8 -
There is growing evidence that weightloss can safely occur for overweight or obese pregnant women, under the supervision of their doctor.
I was in this position due to a health issue and with the help of my doctor and dietician, I believe I list around 15kg during pregnancy.
As mentioned, get the credible advice from professionals on your particular situation.7 -
Hugs to you. Gaining weight when pregnant can feel alarming. When I was pregnant I asked my midwife not to tell me my weight because I was afraid it would triggering for me.
The body makes room for a life inside you, and that is going to change your body. That's ok. Your body will be yours again, eventually.

@MaltedTea I'm not the OP but I will be watching that later! I'm not pregnant now but I anticipate having more children and have been curious to know about weight lifting and intentional exercise specifically during pregnancy, since I'd like it to be part of my life for the long haul and in my previous pregnancies really did no intentional exercise besides walking.
