19 weeks ago on Jan 1, I set my goal to lose 1kg/week. Today I'm 19kg lighter than I was then, so I guess it can work. It hasn't been totally linear though. Got about 2kg to go to my goal which I'd be happy to reach in a month or two.

Cheers. I only kept up that loss rate with a lot of exercise. I'd say more exercise than diet in my case. Running 50km/week and cycling 100-200km/week and hilly walks on my days "off". What's your plan?

Gotcha. Well, good luck. Everything is possible if you're motivated enough. My advice is to have lots of goals instead of just one (losing weight). In my case it was things like running a faster 5k or PRing a hill segment on strava, reducing waist size etc.

1 kg is approximately 2 lb.

Only a good rate of loss if you really have a lot to lose.

Otherwise best to pick a lower rate.
