So I'm Lauren and I've lost almost 40 pounds sine 1/1/13. I've been stuck at the 40 pound mark now since the beginning of may almost 4 months now. My exercise is extremely limited due to my congenital disability, but when I'm with my trainer, I've been doing well. I just find that when I go off my diet almost nothing gets me back on until I just wake up one day willing to do the work. I have ADHD and really struggle to manage impulses because of it. It effects my food intake as well as my money management. I have over 200 pounds to lose and it feels impossible so I self sabotage. It's like a light switch. Either I'm on point and literally eat perfectly within my diet, or I'm way off and binge until I can't. Does anyone know any strategies for getting past black and white thinking? I feel like if I can't do it perfectly I don't even try. I am so overwhelmed. I've gained almost 5 back and could just use some motivation. If not for the disability, I love exercise and would probably be able to makeup for some of the food stuff, but my muscles don't function typically. So exercise is good for me but it doesn't do much for my weight loss and food is so hard to deal with. I'm depressed and eating numbs me, keeps me from thinking too much when bored. I just know my weight has become more of a disability than the disability itself and I need help. Sorry to rant.

40lbs is a huge success and you should be proud of this accomplishment. I don't really have any tips or advice, but I just wanted to wish you luck. Not losing is tough (I've been stuck too), but just try to focus on getting healthy, instead of losing and on how far you've come already, instead of how far you have left to go. Keep going...you can do it0

great work so far!
You are like everyone else here!
It is hard to find something to be motivated by and keeping it when your down about the limitations.
I myself have an issue with my right leg, it will swell up if i do any strenuous walking for more then a minute at a decent pace. I can walk for ages if i walk slowly. (Blood clot/ blood disorder.) My doctor and specialist have no idea why its still happening and so my interval running plans went down the toilet. I can do other workouts, i know my limitations.
Several years ago, I lost 21 kilos, found it, it took me a year! It was safely tucked away in the same spots it left! So I vowed this year it was going! The reason why i found it, I was stuck! tried different things and it wouldn't budge, so it didnt take long for me to feel down, get busy and ignore my journey. Then the issue with my leg happened! So all my hard work plans went down the drain.
Its about finding what you can do and thinking how badly do you want it! The new lifestyle you could be living!
You tube has some great inspirational videos. One guy went from crutches and could barely walk, he was very over weight and he started p90, then worked his way up to p90x and at the end your literally in tears because he achieved his goals from wanting it that badly! He was running at the end of the clip. He was skinny, healthy and loving life.0
