I'm not having a good day.

I felt defeated this morning because I was running late for work and so many things were going wrong, like my key wouldn't come out of my ignition, I broke a shoe, my hair wouldn't cooperate, too much etc....and there he was when I got to work. THE ICE CREAM MAN. I should have resisted, but I did not. I got an orange cream bar and thoroughly enjoyed it then immediately hated myself. On top of that, I don't get to go to the gym today because I have to leave work early and go to cancel my membership at the weight loss clinic, but not before I go pick up my nutrition items they owe me. What else is going to happen today?!

I'm sorry you're having a rough day, that sounds like a lot of little things piling up and sometimes that's tougher to deal with than a crisis. I hope your evening is a lot more relaxing. In fact, try to make it relaxing - take a bath, read a book, give yourself the rest of the day off.
Can we talk about this?tinalongworth wrote: »I got an orange cream bar and thoroughly enjoyed it then immediately hated myself.
Why would you hate yourself for thoroughly enjoying a treat on a stressful day? It's, what, 150 calories? I'm gonna guess you've got a daily deficit of 500 calories, so if you eat everything else like you normally would, you've still got a 350 calorie deficit today. Even if it was 1000 calories, oh well, what's one slip-up if you're generally consistent? Why is that worth hating yourself for? Be kind to yourself and give yourself some permission to be human.
This is a long journey. There will be more bad days. There will be celebrations. There will be events you don't foresee. You'll eat more than you planned or miss the gym some days because life happens. It's about learning how to make good choices 90% of the time and getting back to it after an off-day. No beating yourself up required!7 -
Sometimes it doesn't take much to trigger a bad day. Once you start it's like a domino effect and things go downhill quickly. Rather than worry about the bad, slow yourself down and think about all the good things in your life.
An orange ice cream bar on a day like that is probably well worth the time.
Try to appreciate the bad days aren't the usual, and tomorrow is another day. I hope it's better for you.6 -
Thank you so very much. I needed to see this today. This is why I love this community. I feel so much better now. I was really beating myself up. I'm going to find a way to destress tonight when I get home when the clinic after dumping them. You know why I am dumping them? I have MyFitnessPal now. I don't need to pay them when I have this community and all the benefits of the app on my phone. Now I feel energized. Thank you, friends. You mean a lot to me.6

So the key in the ignition thing happens to me all the time on my Subaru Crosstrek - when I googled the situation, it stated that it does this because the car isn't registering that it's in Park. I find that jiggling the shift indicator releases it pretty easily, though sometimes I end up turning the car on moving the shift indicator a little slower back into park, then try. Hope your day gets better and icecream for breakfast sounds amazing.2
