Gaining when I should be losing weight

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I just started trying to lose weight and had good success the first couple of days. But the last three days in a row have either been no change or I gain a half pound even though with the exercise I log, I am under my calorie target by about 1000 calories. Why am I not losing weight?

Because weight loss is not lineair. There are days where the scale will go down, and days where nothing happens and days where the scale will go up. The same happens when you're not losing weight. It's normal.

Because you are being WAY too impatient.
A few days is not nearly enough time to determine if something is working or not.
You are not going to lose weight every day, or even every week. You will even sometimes gain.
Weight fluctuates from day to day, so you need to watch the trend over time.
Give it at least a month before you determine if it's working or not.4 -
Also, you say you are eating 1,000 calories UNDER your target?
If you have MFP set up to lose weight, then you should be eating up to your calorie goal, not under it.7
