Hi everyone!

I originally posted this in another forum, but it is probably more relevant here.

Glad to be here! How have your health goals changed because of COVID?

    Hi!

I'm guessing that the answers to your question will depend a lot on where things stood for us as individuals when the pandemic started.

Other than "try really hard not to get Covid", I don't think my goals changed because of it. I'd lost 50+ pounds in 2015-16, then ultra-slowly regained 10-15 of them over about 4 years. I was still in a healthy weight range, but jeans were getting tight, and I *hate* to clothes shop. A few months before the pandemic, I'd started working at ultra-slowly (I hoped pretty painlessly) re-losing those few pounds, and was dropping about a pound a month on average, about what I wanted.

It started to level off a bit, then the pandemic shut-downs arrived, which - oddly - was a help: Fewer restaurant, social eating, brewpub temptations! The intended slow loss got moving again. Not long ago, I got back in my preferred weight range, where I'm working now on stabilizing.

The gyms closing down cut off my twice a week spin classes, which was a drag; and my rowing club was closed for a while - bigger drag. However, I found other things to do, adjusting calorie intake as needed, even got a stationary bike for home use to substitute for spin. So, that all worked out, too.

Pretty much throughout, my goals were to maintain a healthy weight, not have to shop for new clothes (😉), and find some ways to stay reasonably fit while having fun. I'm lucky enough to be retired, so there was no adjustment on that side of things.

How about you: What's your pandemic goals adjustment story?
