Can I SUP overweight.

A group of us plan on going stand up paddle boarding while on vacation in a couple weeks. I am 5'7" and weigh 225. Can I do it? I don't want to get to the site then find out I'm too heavy. I've looked online and from what I can tell is you have to have a bigger board if you're bigger but I don't know if most rental places would accommodate that. We'll be in the Outer Banks. Don't know yet where we'll rent from so I can't call. If anyone has done it is it way harder to do if you're big?

    225 is not terribly heavy.

    You'll be fine.

yah, you're fine. Depending on where you are on the banks, you could hit up google for the rentals. I know in the central, Kitty Hawk Kites is a go-to.

<--- I'm currently 195 and had no problems at all this weekend. They had big and little boards, but they weren't that different. I think I ended up on a regular sized board.

Thanks. I'm going to try it! I was worried that I would look ridiculous because of my weight but I have to get over that. Worrying about how I'll look doing things and what other people think is what made my weight increase in the first place.
