Hello all,
It was with great sadness I learned my favorite website was closing August 17. I had made a lot of long term friends there and now everyone is scattering to find a new home. As a Canadian, I was not welcome in the new Spark AMERICA version. So here I am.
I have been maintaining my weight for 12 years, so I really need support for that rather than weight loss. I have severe health challenges which make it hard for me. But I love to exercise and I love to move. In spite of 7 joint replacements and every joint in my body from the neck down damaged by rheumatoid arthritis, I enjoy Zumba, hiking, HIIT, fitness classes. Living in a remote part of Canada, fresh produce can be quite gross as its traveled so far and long to get here. I live for the short Farmer's Market season. So I depend on a lot of frozen and canned freggies. I don't drive, so the recent covid lockdowns didn't affect me as I was already involved a lot on the online community. In fact, it opened even more doors for me to explore in the comfort of my own home. There wasn't anything really I couldn't do and the availability of inexpensive fitness classes online meant I got in really great shape.
My usual summer plan is to move in with Mom so I can help her with the house and yard, a lot of work for an 85 year old with double hip replacements and bad knees. It also gives me easy access to the wooded trails along the river valley so I can get lots of hiking in.
Be well and stay safe!
