Hi there, my name is Dom I reside in a land up north. You'd never know that with the hot as hell weather we're experiencing. I'm smack dab in the middle of what I'm referring to as a 'life saving weight loss and lifestyle change'.
A little about myself; I sit on my butt most of the day at my desk making architectural models for work. I enjoy jogging (have a huuuuge goal of running a marathon), playing xbox with friends, and making electronic music. All of which have been very accommodating in the pandemic. I'm really bad with boards. I used them a lot when I was younger, but have become more of a reader than a contributor. I'd like to change that behavior starting here.
I've been heavy all my adult life. It comes with the territory as an already weirdly tall person (6'5"). Weirdly because the rest of my family is average in stature. Circumstances prevented me from taking the steps to change until I had my life turned upside down with life path altering events of early type 2 diagnosis at 34, and getting divorced. Decided that it was finally time to live the life I wanted, and at the very least be happy with myself for trying.
In year one of transformation I've had some ups and downs. But some amazing things have happened. I'm now considered less than pre-diabetic, my A1C is normal for the first time in 5 years and has been for half a year. I'm jogging consistently every other day for at least 30 minutes.
Downside is I've become kind of tied to my diet, everything I talk about is diet. No one wants to hear it.
My intent moving forward is finding the right balance via TDEE with working-out, eating well, and managing to lose my last 70.
Raw numbers, wish I had measurements. Might start doing that soon...
