I have tried several times to find an oatmeal that I like - just because it is supposed to keep you full for longer - I get hungry by 10 AM everyday no matter what I eat. Does anyone have a brand etc, etc of oatmeal that might help me to love it??

I personally hate pre-packaged oatmeal because I find it so slimy and awkward tasting. I found a recipe for this baked oatmeal online years ago and it is GREAT!! It's a bit dry once you have baked it but I eat it with milk/almond milk just like you would a regular cereal and it is so good and filling.
Ingredients:
3 cups rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup melted butter (I use 1/2 cup apple sauce instead)
2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
1 apple, chopped (Granny Smith works well)
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup raisins
Directions:
1.Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2.In a large bowl, mix together oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt. Beat in milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Stir in cranberries, raisins and apple. Spread into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
3.Bake in preheated oven for 40 minutes. Stir half-way through.0 -
I eat oatmeal every morning for breakfast. I eat at about 6:45 or 7am, and I'm full until at least 10AM - perfect time for a morning snack.
Anyway, I microwave 1/3 cup of quaker oats with 2/3 cup of water. Then I stir in 2 tbsp of ground flax, 2 tbsp of reduced fat peanut butter, 1 tbsp of honey and 1/2 cup of milk.
Mmm...delicious.0 -
I've never found an oatmeal that I liked. Quick cooking, rolled, steel cut, w/ fruit, peanut butter, nuts, whatever. They all taste like oatmeal and I don't like it.
What are you currently eating for breakfast?0 -
Usually I eat raspberry or strawberry greek yogurt with fresh fruit and ground flaxseed. If I have time, I drink a cup of coffee with a little almond milk and 1 tsp honey. I think I am probably getting too much sugar with my morning meal??0

I doubt that is too much sugar for the morning, but if you want to cut it try wholemeal toast w/ peanut butter, eggs ( a veggie omelet is a filling low sugar breakfast) or a high fiber high protein low sugar cold cereals. Mix your yogurt and fruit into a smoothie with some protein powder (you could even add oats, if you wanted). Oatmeal is not the only low sugar breakfast option.0
