Tired of Favourite Food

Hi Everyone,
So I am absolutely in love with peanut butter... and yes I realize it is healthy! However eating too much of any food isn't healthy, and peanut butter is high in calories and fat. I eat way too much peanut butter, and once I serve myself a portion I always want more. I'm wondering if any of you have a way to end an obsession with a certain food.
Cutting it cold turkey? or Minimizing amount weekly?
Anything would be helpful
Thanks!

I love curry, I could eat like a whole take away to myself. I'm the same with my favourite kind of candy. It's all about selfcontroll. Why shouldn't we enjoy the food we love just because we are dieting. If I find myself craving more I get my bf to hide it till the next day lol0

This isn't exactly the answer to your question, but ... Have you tried PB2? It is peanut butter, but pressed to remove most of the oil. One serving is only 45 calories! I love it and put it in my protein shake every day. BellPlantation makes it, you can buy it direct from them online.
For me, chocolate and sweets are my weakness. I found a chocolate protein powder that is so delicious, and when mixed with banana, water, and ice, tastes just like ice cream. It is heavenly! I try to find ways to incorporate my favorite foods in to my diet in as healthy of a form as possible. I never want to remove foods I love from my life, that is torture! Moderation
When I am having a splurge meal, and I'm finished with my acceptable portion, I drink a big glass of water. It fills me up so that I don't want to go back for seconds, thirds... (haha) I also try to eat it as far away from the kitchen/pantry as possible. I'm usually too lazy to get back up and have more. If I'm eating chocolate chips from the bag, I'm gonna eat the whole thing, but if I take a little handful and go sit on the couch, very low chance that I'll get back up. :P0 -
I love peanut butter also.
My favourite food has always been cheese. I was in trouble when my housemate introduced to me peanut butter and cheese sandwiches!! So fatty, but so good.
Since being on here and logging I realised how fattening cheese is, especially my favourite extra mature cheddar. That alone has seem to stopped me from eating so much.0 -
What worked for me (although might not the best way) was to just give in to the craving and then I just get saturated and I don't want it anymore. Lol0
