Who'd have thought?
We all said it at one time or another in middle school/high school: "Why are we learning this when we will never use it in real life?"
Well for me it was TYPING CLASS. I grew up in the late 70's early 80's. In the US typing class at the time wasn't a requirement. However I went to my last 2 years of high school overseas. In the Catholic school I was in, it was a mandatory class. I was no means a fast typist at all. Lucky at the time to even hit 30 words a minute. And we didn't have electric typewriters in my school. We had the manual press as hard as you can typewriters. But also back then, I really never thought typing would be a big thing in my life.
When I got back to the states and got on my own, I actually bought an electric typewriter. I used it to type applications, letters, etc. But that was the total extent of it...........................until I got my first PC. Then learned about chat rooms. Then social media. Who'd have thought that typing class would be one of the skills that I would end up having to use on a daily basis compared to all the other classes I took?
Now if only I'd had learned how to text.................I just use one finger. Takes me forever to answer.

I do wish I'd listened better in certain classes. History kinda has its appeal now. As do math and biology. Never was able to get into our high school psychology class; it was considered easy and everybody signed up for that one. But that's a class I would've loved, along with Spanish.
As for some of the other stuff like Mythology, I could've done without.0 -
