Polyunsaturated and Monounsaturated Fats

Hello everyone. My understanding is that polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats are the good fats. I don't get why they are listed in the nutrient tracking chart with a daily value of 0. Then when you eat anything with those fats in it, the remaining balance shows a negative number. Can anyone explain what that means and how that works? Doesn't everyone need to eat polyunsaturated and monounsaturated fats, in moderation of course? Thanks!

There is no set minimum or limit so MFP makes that number N/A. For some reason on either the app or desktop it shows up as 0. It doesn't mean you shouldn't eat those fats.

The "scientific" claims of dietary cholesterol erode a little bit each year. Back in the day. the American Heart Association falsely claimed a direct cause between arterial plaque and dietary cholesterol from certain saturated fats. Although the direct cause claim has been abandoned, the AHA has clutched to "linked" to or "associated with" as a fig leaf for their alarmism decades ago.

Certainly, it is reasonable to accept that persons who consume a lot of fats are going to be less heart healthy. But, there is nothing that proves dietary cholesterol causes arterial plaque. Eventually, the AHA will abandon the concept entirely and leave us alone to return to butter and eggs.

Everyone needs to eat polyunsaturated fats, because essential fatty acids are only found in PUFAs.
