Not entirely. Started 6 wks ago?. Hoping I can lose this last 10. I am 62. Work out at least 4x a week. Now a caregiver for my Mom. She just moved in with us. It has impacted my workouts...eating habits. Gonna get thru it tho! Stress and anxiety are my demons.

    Hi, and welcome!

If you haven't stumbled over it, you might like this thread:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10718336/60-yrs-and-up#latest

It has a lot of people our age (I'm 65) who are on a similar path. Be aware that the thread has been going for a while, and - like any other thread here - the more recent comments are at the end, on the higher-numbered pages. So, don't be alarmed if you open it up and the first page looks old. The conversation is still going on!

    Wishing you much success!

Welcome. Caregiving is definitely a challenge! I am my husband’s caregiver. I’ve been doing that twelve years now. He is a bit older than me, and has vascular dementia. Diet and exercise has slowed his decline down considerably. It helps that he was an athlete and enjoys exercise. He was a black belt before the strokes. Way long ago he used to train with the Steve Capener, who has won many awards, including a gold medal at the Pan Am games.

Both my husband and I use a recumbent elliptical in our living room, so at least it’s handy.

If you’re new to caregiving, I can recommend participating in a support group for caregivers. Before COVID we had some really cool events locally where we would meet at a pizza place and have a nice leisurely lunch with other caregivers and their loved ones. And the local independent movie theater had a once a month event called “Meet Me At The Movies” which were really fun. I can’t wait until that can start back up.

Apologies if that’s not info relevant to your specific situation.
