Using Body Fat Calipers

I have used the hand held electric BF reader at my gym, had a personal trainer use calipers a while ago and just picked up a scale that reports body fat. They all report differently. Googling and reading up on ways to do get as accurate as possible body fat readings without fancy expensive systems, I see calipers are best, but it says you need a professional to help you. Anyone not a professional that has figured out how to use calipers accurately by themselves?

Really?? No one has ever used their own calipers?0

Using calipers on yourself is pointless. Have someone else measure you. Make sure you read the instructions how, and the person measuring you is consistent. Even then it will still be an estimate, but better than nothing.0

I tried using the online calculators to estimate my body fat percentage. But they all way underestimated it. I thought I would get a set of calipers but I ran into the same problem as you. There are so many variables. I don't think I'd ever be able to get anything accurate.0
