Hey All! 👋
Context: trying to do a body recomposition. I weigh in at 273.8 at the start of an intense kickboxing weight training camp. (Lasts 10 weeks). I went from eating about 1800-2300 calories and maintaining or slowing gaining. I've calculated my BMR to be about 1400. I started eating at or slightly below 1600 a day on 7/12. My calories burn averages about 650 a day. (From just my exercise program). I started creatine (3grams a day) at the beginning of this program 7/12. It's been almost 2 weeks and I've seen 0 change in weight or measurements. Is it possible to gain so much water weight from creatine to hide any results in 2 weeks? I'm also at a bad point in my cycle (PMS water weight on top of it too). Just need some encouragement to keep going. Another note: the creatine has helped with my performance and recovery. I still get DOMs but they are not debilitating and they go away faster. I've also noticed some new PRs. I can almost do a push-up and my rhr is down to 55 bpm which is stellar.
Just to restate my question: would creatine / pms bloat hide all results from such an intense training program?

Personally, I don't think creatine alone would have that big of an effect, but the combined with the other mitigating factors you described I could see overall water retention having a masking effect. Cycle fluctuations and glycogen/inflammation from new/increased exercise can really play with the scale. I'm a guy and I'm no stranger to 2-3 lbs of fluctuation if I change my training or do something uncharacteristically strenuous like a physical DIY project. I want to say it was a 2lb spike for several days from power washing/staining my relatively small deck earlier this year.2
