Calories for lunch were WAY more than what is published!

Went to Macaroni Grill today for my birhtday lunch with my co-workers. I checked out the menu beforehand and selected my healthy option... jumbo shrimp skewers and roasted veggies. I asked for a side of raw spinach so I can put my lunch on top and have a nice, filling lunch. The calories listed for the meal was 320 calories. Not bad at all! However, when my meal came, everything was heavily coated in olive oil!

So, just a tip to everyone... even when you are ordering a "healthy" option, be sure ask about the cooking method, etc. You can still make a point to request minimal oil/butter in the cooking process. Lesson learned!

Point taken. But you know, 320 just might be right! Shrimp and vegies are VERY low in calories! I think it would be hard to get to 320 cal with just shrimp and vegies otherwise. I haven't looked up the individual components but it may not be that bad.

    Happy Birthday!! :flowerforyou:

Did you look up the nutritional info in Macaroni Grills site? If so then they have to include calories from cooking/prep in the fact sheet.

Yes, I looked it up on the website... Trust me, I was expecting SOME olive oil to make up those calories. But, there was A LOT of olive oil!
