Hello from NYC

I used to belong to WW and lost weight and was close to goal. But I gained it back and then during COVID I gained it all back and then some. Now, since WW meetings are not convenient anymore and those are what helped me lose, I am using calorie deficit and Myfitnesspal to track. I have been using it awhile to track my food (about a month) and am now getting into the exercise portion of things. I am am doing intermittent dirty fasting (milk in my coffee--can't do it without) since I tend not to be hungry for breakfast, am measuring things more and am focusing on increasing lean protein. The hardest thing is that I sometimes am hungry at night before I go to sleep and then sleep is hard (I am also not a great sleeper). My thinking is that if I can up my protein during the day, it might help me later on. I have added edamame, hardboiled eggs and nut butter (small amounts of that, carefully measured).

I am from NYC. I am turning 60 later this month. The weight is coming off slowly. I am okay with that (even though it would be nice if it came off faster), since I am working out more and doing strength training (having thin bones, I need to).

I am interested in hearing from everyone, but especially those in my general age bracket, who are struggling like me. I am especially struggling with working out every day, even as I know that I feel better afterwards. I m worried that it is hard to motivate myself now, when I am off for the summer. It will be even harder in the fall, when I go back to work. I work out now in the mornings. However, in the fall, I will need to shift to afternoon/early evenings because I have to be out of the house by 6:30 a.m. I know that I will want to come home and be a couch potato...

    Hey there!
I struggle with many of the same things you do - feeling motivated to work out (and finding a ton of excuses not to! Lol), poor sleep and getting to an age where metabolism isn’t our friend😂
Also, I’m kind of your neighbour! Ontario, Canada, here 👋
    Sending you a FR😊
